We thought about this once too.  From the technical point view, it
shouldn't be difficult to write Speech Dispatcher support for Sawfish,
it's possible to port the Elisp or Common Lisp interface.  But the
question is, whether this is the right approach.  For instance,
Gnopernicus has some window manager support -- wouldn't be better to use
that?  Or can Sawfish extensibility be used in some advanced way to
better serve the needs of visually impaired in the windowing
environment?  I don't know answers to these questions.
