I don't know how to handle this in a GUI. But in any terminal you can do
so by giving a call for a media file the prefix "aoss"; you have to
install alsa-oss first:
aptitude update; aptitude install alsa-oss
and then for example:
aoss <yourfavoriteplayer> <yourwantedmediafile>
