Question with $PLAY_COMMAND

This clears up things quite a bit.  It explains well why the default
assignment of $PLAY_COMMAND wasn't working.  For now, I just set my
AudioOutputMethod to ALSA and works fine.

I'll have to delve into the speechd code some to get a full
understanding of the structure here but what you said in your last
message explained well in concept the cause of the original problem.
